I first attended one of Janes yoga classes when I was incredibly stressed, unhappy and suffering from serious Back pain. Any initial fears I had about physical activity were instantly soothed by her calm , individualised and informed instruction.
I was so impressed i booked a yoga therapy session which proved life changing for me. Jane supported me in seeing the link between my physical pain and stressed mental state. Following the session, I was able to think clearly for the first time in months, and very quickly make decisions that have ultimately lead to a happier and more content life. It really was astonishing how quickly her methods worked, and also how easy it was to incorporate her personalised after care plan into my daily life.

In the summer of 2017 , with little or no forewarning, I had a ‘breakdown’ – or a ‘burnout’ , as it is often referred to in contemporary language.
I was very unwell for some months, and my recovery was helped in considerable part by the care and professionalism I received in yoga therapy and meditation sessions with Jane Macpherson. Her calm strength and teaching helped guide me back to health – for which I am very grateful. I am happy and reassured to know that she is available to help other people who may experience such similar problems – and to that end I would not hesitate to recommend Jane to anyone who might find themselves needing her help.

I’ve been attending a 1 hour one on one class with Jane for 6 months now. At 62 I am definitely a latecomer to yoga but having reached semi-retirement I now have the time to ensure that I can still do up my own shoelaces and can still look over my shoulder when driving! But Jane’s sessions have given me so much more than that. They help me to understand my body, help my mind deal with the daily “clutter” and “noise” that bombards us all, and has calmed me down generally. I really look forward to my Monday morning class, and that’s all down to Jane. She is very patient with me! Looking back when I first met Jane I had only recently sold my business after 30 years of ownership. It was a defining moment for me, I was in mourning, a little depressed even. But thanks to Jane I am steadily getting back my vim and vigour.
Jane has been my yoga teacher for fifteen years because I love the way she teaches.
She has an inner calm and a warm sense of humour and she is always generous in sharing her knowledge. Jane is sensitive towards her class, quietly aware of each person’s needs, not only on a physical level.

Having not practiced yoga for a very long time, I was very nervous about my ability and have to admit I did not relish the idea that I might feel inadequate or embarrassed. However I took the “baptism of fire” road and attended Jane’s India Retreat in the most beautiful of environments. I need not have had any concerns, Jane enjoys teaching a mixed ability class, she is patient, attentive to those with joint or back issues (which I have) and I feel extremely comfortable with her teaching methods and now attend her weekly class in Clanfield. It was also very good to meet a lovely group of people in India, many of whom have been clients of Jane’s for years and also attend her weekly classes. Through Jane’s method of “Group 1 and Group 2” I have felt acceptance of my ability ensuring comfort within the class. With Jane’s encouragement I have learned, rather than to push myself, (my nature), I can enjoy the feeling that my body is relaxing into a pose and not pushing myself to achieve. I attended another of Jane’s retreats in North Cornwall – testimony indeed to Jane’s thoughtful and knowledgeable teaching. Jane is including Yoga meditation in her teaching. This method of observing, accepting and understanding aspects of the individual brings a personal wholeness of being and banishes negative aspects of “inadequacy and embarrassment”.

My first experience of attending a Yoga Retreat was with Jane in Kerala, India.
It took place in Dewalokam, a beautiful setting where Jane offers yoga sessions near to the river and in the midst of stunning gardens. All food is sourced from the organic farm and is delicious and plentiful. There are Ayurvedic massages available as well wonderful walks through the rubber plantations and jungle provided by the knowledgable and delightful people who run the farm.
In this stunning setting Jane organises an uplifting and energising yoga session before breakfast , this is followed by further yoga that continues this energising process before brunch, an afternoon of relaxation by the pool and an early evening restorative and contemplative session to engender complete calm and relaxation before supper. It is a sublime experience, one that is completely addictive!
At the end of the week you are truly left feeling well in mind , body and spirit ….. a wonderful state. All that’s required is the booking form for next year!
